Hampshire Labour Hampshire County Labour Group
Labour is in opposition at Hampshire County Council. We love sharing our county councillors’ campaigns for a better Hampshire, and our Hampshire-wide campaigners’ news. Most of the geographical county of Hampshire is served by two tiers of local government: Hampshire is responsible to Hampshire County Council and 11 local district, borough and city councils. District, borough and city councils provide services such as:
- Household waste collection
- Planning applications
- Leisure and community services
- Council Tax collection
- Housing
Services provided by Hampshire County Council include: education and learning, services for children and families, maintenance of Hampshire’s roads, social care and health, the library service, trading standards and waste recycling centres – but the District, Borough or city councils manage kerbside household waste collections. Hampshire now has two new Labour Labour MPs Luke Murphy and Alex Baker
