A month ahead of the Autumn Statement, new analysis reveals the devastating cut in government funding to Hampshire under the Conservatives.
In 2010, under Labour, Hampshire received £216.63 million a year in government funding for local services – the equivalent of £315.98min today’s prices. Yet today, after years of cuts – and the devastating inflation brought on when the Conservatives crashed the British economy – we receive just £124.75m, a real terms cut of 61%
Even after the Conservatives have forced up council tax in our area by 50%, that still leaves Hampshire with a total spending power reduction of 13%.
